Pregnancy Headaches

pregnancy headaches
Did anyone else have severe headaches during pregnancy? How long did they last?

I’m almost 12 weeks pregnant and suddenly I have terrible terrible headaches. I know they are partially sinus related but I haven’t had any sinus problems really until about 3 weeks ago.

Anyways I was just wondering if anyone had severe migrane headaches during pregnancy and how long that lasted for you?

Thanks

Yes, those terrible headaches… Sinus related or not… I went through them through my entire first trimester. I thought it only happened to me.. Those excruciating headaches made me feel so weak and in sooo much pain. I googled so much information on the internet and what I found was that because of the increase amount of blood I was subject to getting them.

I then began to analyze them a little more in depth and realized that when it was humid or I was in a kind of warm/hot location/area my headaches will begin and last days.

I would call my docs office and they would recommend Tylenol, that definitely did not work and never did even before I became pregnant.

My suggestion is try to lay down and put wet warm towels on your head, it should take some of the pressure off. It did for me… Or try Vicks, that also helped even though it was not a cold that I had.

Once the first trimester is over, it should all pass by. I don’t get the sinus headaches anymore and here I am 27 weeks pregnant.

Hopefully, those headaches go away- Mine were sooo painful that it would make me tear and cry because of all the pressure on my head.

Pregnancy Test Brands Accuracy

home pregnancy Tests

If you think you may be pregnant but don’t want to wait until your doctors appointment to find out if you are or are not pregnant then a home pregnancy test just might be perfect for you. There are several different brands of home pregnancy tests on the market but there are basically two different types of tests available. Both of these tests measure the pregnancy hormone HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) that is found in a woman’s urine during pregnancy.

The most common type of pregnancy test that is used at home is the test stick method. You hold the stick under your urine stream and the stick will change colour if you are pregnant. There are also some digital test sticks that make it very easy by showing “pregnant” or “not pregnant” when the stick is held under the urine stream. The second type of test uses a collection cup for urine instead of the stick that is held under the urine flow. These tests basically work the same though, changing colour if HCG is found in the urine.

There are some important facts to remember when taking home pregnancy tests. Both of these types of tests work the best if the test is taken the first time you urinate in the morning. At this time your urine is more highly concentrated then during the course of the day when it is diluted by how much water or other beverages you are drinking. You are more likely to get a “false negative” if you don’t take the test with your first morning urine. Many of these tests advertise that they can show a positive pregnancy result on the first day that you have missed your period. This may be true but you are more likely to get the correct answer if you wait until a week after you have missed your period. Again, if you take the test too soon it may show a negative result when in fact you are pregnant. One more important thing to check is the expiration date; don’t use an expired test.

These tests, if used properly, show a high accuracy rate and are affordable. Each kit usually comes with two tests and are very cost effective. Most women find these tests to be a helpful start to the beginning of their pregnancy journey.

Gloucester High School Pregnancy Pact

Should the fathers be forced to pay child support?

Gloucester, Massachusetts

Group of teenage girls as young as 14 who formed a ‘pregnancy-pact’ INTENTIONALLY pursued these guys for the sole purpose of getting pregnant and becoming a mother. They even refused contraception when offered.

From the article: “Some of the girls reacted to the news they were pregnant with high fives and plans for baby showers, Sullivan said. One of the fathers “is a 24-year-old homeless guy,” Sullivan told the magazine. Others were boys in the school

I would like to hear some thoughts on this. Should the fathers be forced to provide financial support? What about the girls? Aren’t they being punished in some way as well for their actions? Or are they still seen as the victims?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25272678/

It’s a sticky situation Certainly the girls should be charged with entrapment or some other sort of crime. This behavior disgusts me and, for the record, I am a feminist theorist. Let’s be clear. This female behavior is the antithesis of feminism.

Unfortunately this situation now involves more than just the scheming girls and the horny guys. It involves new human beings who are innocent. These kids do deserve to be cared for and given a shot at life. It is in the community’s best interest to see to it that these children have their basic needs met.

Men should have more control over their fertility though. Saying to a man, “you had sex, now deal with a child” is the EXACT SAME argument used by antichoice activists to enslave women. It’s a double standard that needs to be addressed.

First off, men should have more birth control options. Secondly, there should be a law against this sort of deceit and manipulation. Girls and women who entrap a man should have to pay back (perhaps with interest) the money provided by the father during the kids childhood once that kid reaches 18. It would make stupid girls think that maybe there is a better way to have power than to have kids. That would be a bonus for all of us.

You see? Feminists and men’s movement folks share some common interests. Actually, we’re on the same side. It’s the “traditional” women who think men should pay for everything and “do a lot for us” who are the enemy of feminists, men, and womankind alike.

Causes Of Recurrent Pregnancy Loss

causes of recurrent pregnancy loss
Recurrent bacterial vaginosis and recurrent miscarriages…is there a link ?

I have had recurrent bacterial vaginosis after sex with my partner. After being treated with antibiotics, it always comes back after having sex with this partner. I have also had recurrent pregnancy loss with this SAME PARTNER !
I have had all kinds of tests done to determine the cause of these late 2nd trimester miscarriages. They are uneplained and seems I am a completely healthy woman. Could the answer be so simple that it’s been overlooked for the past 2 years ? Could the BV be causing the miscarriages ?

sounds like problem with partner. partner should be checked also.

Teen Pregnancy Movies On Lifetime

August 30th, 2011 admin No comments

What is this profession called ? and the courses required ?

High Schools have a special lecturer come in and talk to the older group of teenagers about pregancy prevention and the importance of waiting till your older and the use of protection.

They just don’t tell the strap on a condom , they have interactions with the students and learn about the influences that cause the to be into that oversexed lifestyle

And no they are not petafiles, **(-_-)** they try to help teenagers. Ever watched the movie on Lifetime “mom at 16″ ? well the blond teacher who spoke to the students and learn about the new “trends” is what I am aiming to do, to help reduce teen pregnancy.

I am 16 now and planning to become a Software Developer, however I love children and want to do something to help them.

Any other suggestions that I can do to help with this issue ?
Do you know any courses in college I should take ?

It sounds like a community health advocate, the sort who works through your county health office. If that’s the direction you decide to go, I’d think you’d want either a degree in nursing, or perhaps a teaching degree with a focus on health.

A great resource might be your school nurse–they should have a good handle on the programs in the area and the different types of jobs in the field.

Good luck!

Week By Week Pregnancy Planner

pregnant? or just a cluster of things that seem like I am?

I have a few symptoms that make me feel like pregnancy could be an option, but I think it could just be a bunch of things being cause by a bunch of other things. . . I’m really bloated, not sure specifically what days I had sex on(my planner is in my car. But this is the one that is bothering me the most and even if I’m not I would love suggestions on how to reduce this. I have been increasingly eating more and more, and I am always!!!!! hungry. Also my last period came two weeks early so I really don’t know if that was just a freak thing and I should still expect my period on my normal date or expect it 28 days after the two week early date. Oh and all day today my stomach/lower abdomen was cramping up…

thank you so much for your time

fyi- I do have a lot of stress in my life, I am in college, playing hockey on my college team and in the process of removing a tattoo to enlist in the navy.

Well, you could be but you have a very minimal amount of symptoms. Not saying your not because its different for every women every pregnancy. But I think the best way is to wait it out and take a test. I would avoid alcohol etc until you know for sure. When I was pregnant here were my early symptoms:

~morning sickness
~constipation
~bloated
~emotional
~extreme fatigue (especially in the first trimester)
~anxiety
~appetite had slowed down at first.

~good luck though!

Pregnancy Discharge Third Trimester

August 27th, 2011 admin No comments

What is “safe” vaginal discharge during the third trimester?

I am in the third trimester (week 33) of my first pregnancy. To say I’m paranoid is an understatement. These last few days, I’ve noticed a brownish discharge on my undies, similar to what we usually see when we’re on the very last days of our period. As for the smell, it doesn’t smell good to me (I did say I’m paranoid, right?) I’m going to observe if it’s gone by the weekend, if not I’ll be going to my doctor on Monday…but did any of you have had the same thing in the past?

my daughter was born at 36 weeks ..
sounds to me like you’re starting to lose your mucus plug.
your body is getting ready to have you baby.
& you might be early.
it could be a good idea to talk to your doctor anyway just in case,
but i did that early on & it was bc i was losing my mucus plug.
& my daughter was born a month early.

Pregnancy Week 14 What To Expect

Extreme nausia during first 14 weeks of pregnancy?

My husband and I are expecting our first child. I am 17 wks pregnant, and just getting over the daily nausia and vomiting. I can, and finally am, eating a well balanced diet. Here is my concern: Throughout the first 14 wks I would experience extreme morning sickness, although it occured ALL day and night. I could barely get a prenatal Vitamin down, better yet a meal.
As hard as I tried, I could not keep the majority of my food down. I would find myself over the toilet after breakfast, lunch and dinner.
My doctor recommended remedies like not drinking water w/ a meal, eating crackers as soon as I woke up, eating smaller more frequent meals etc. They did not seem to help.
I hope despirately that this didn’t effect our baby. I just started to feel him/her movements, and I heard the heartbeat at my 16 wk prenatal appt. My next ultrasound is not for 3 wks, and I am terrified that they will tell me my baby did not develop right. Has anyone ever dealt with this? What was the outcome?

I promise you that you will be fine, just start the prenatal pills as soon as you can keep them down. I had extreme morning sickness for the first 4 months of my pregnancy and i couldn’t keep my prenatal pills down either and i thought the same way but everything will be fine. I even lost 18 total pounds and only have just gained it bact. I am now 32 weeks and my baby is completely healthy even after all of that. So just don’t worry about it and your doctor would tell you if you are having a really big problem. Enjoy your pregnancy<3

Pregnancy Test Line Very Light

August 25th, 2011 admin No comments

What does a very light vertical line mean on a pregnancy test?

I’ve been experiencing nausea, heightened sense of smell, fatigue, and dizziness. I took an equate pregnancy test this morning and there was a very faint vertical line in the window. I could see it but no one else could.
It wasn’t the blue dye. It’s only been 3 weeks though, but I started feeling this way within the second week and I started spotting light pink a couple days after my husband and I last had sex. I don’t think he is nervous but I definitely am, lol.

trust your instincts. congratulations
