Common Pregnancy Dreams

Crazy pregnancy dreams?
Hi. I’m having absolutely crazy dreams, and they all seem really clear. I normally don’t dream at all, or at least I don’t remember them. Lately, I’m dreaming about stuff that I know I shouldn’t be doing- for instance, I had a dream that I went out with friends drinking (which, honestly, I didn’t do but maybe once a year before I got pregnant anyway), and I completely forgot I was pregnant until I got home and my husband yelled at me. I woke up scared to death! I’m also dreaming about sushi, tons of caffeine, amusement park thrill rides, etc.
Is this fairly common? Why would I be dreaming about this stuff? Does being pregnant make the dreams more vivid? Thanks!
Yep, vivid dreams is indeed a “side effect” of pregnancy. I had some pretty wacky ones in my first trimester. They went away until recently and just last night I had a dream that I began lactating. It was so bad that one squirt would fill up a bottle, then I panicked because I thought to myself “I need to save this for the baby! I’ll run out of I don’t and he’s not even here yet!”. In my first trimester I had a dream that I was stalking Betty White from the golden girls and she caught me but instead of getting in trouble, she invited me over to her house for dinner where I met her family, only I didn’t think they were her family because they were all hispanic. Then her dad tried to sell me his canary yellow ford mustang dodge pickup truck. A couple of nights ago I had a dream that I had my old mustang back only it was brand new and shiny and didn’t need someone to drive it.. I would sit in the back seat and it would go where I wanted it to.
Dreams during pregnancy are the same as dreams when not pregnant. They are a reflection of our hopes, dreams, fears.. anything that will inspire any kind of positive or negative emotion or something we feel strongly about. The hormones raging in our bodies make them more vivid than the average person.
