How Long Should You Wait for a pregnancy test?

If a woman thinks she may be pregnant, she usually can’t wait to find out if she really is. It’s usually because they’re too excited to wait. In other cases, the mother may be worried about having another child that she can’t care for. These women will obviously be concerned about the results of their tests too. Since they’re so anxious to find out, many women take one before they’re ready. If you take the test too early, you may get a false negative result in response.

In the past, women had to wait a few months before getting a doctor to give her a test. After taking the test, she would have to wait a few days for the results to come back. Women don’t have to wait any longer. If you use a modern test, you can find out if you’re pregnant approximately two weeks after conception. These tests work by looking for the presence of certain hormones in the woman’s urine. hCG usually shows up after the embryo has been implanted in the womb. This takes about two weeks. It usually doesn’t take as long to detect H-hCG. A pregnancy test for H-hCG is the most reliable; however, the majority of the tests on the market aren’t designed to be sensitive enough to detect H-hCG.

You probably believe that pregnancy tests are 99% accurate like people claim. However, this accuracy is based on the woman waiting long enough to take the test. Also, there were various studies conducted that determined the tests were only accurate about 48% to 89% of the time. This simply means that it’s possible for the test to deliver wrong results. Before you try to take the test, it’s best to wait until you’ve missed a full menstrual cycle. Prior to that time you risk a false negative.

You’ll save some heartache by taking a test even if the result can be difficult to live with You can imagine how you’d feel if you tested negative when you were so anxious to be pregnant. It’s possible that you could be pregnant the entire time, so why risk all of the unnecessary sadness? Also, you shouldn’t celebrate a negative result before really knowing for sure These tests are a great invention, but they need to be used properly. Doc No.wslsdhgt-sdgewa

Early Signs Of Pregnancy Yeast Infection

December 23rd, 2009 admin No comments

What causes Yeast Infection

What is Yeast Infection?

This kind of infection is most common among women. However, many remain ignorant or unaware of this medical problem. It is important to know the symptoms, dangers, and related conditions of yeast infection to be able to treat it early on. It is also necessary to determine the various causes of this disease to be able to avoid it before it even happens. Finally, it will be most helpful for any female person if she is also knowledgeable of the several possible treatments for yeast infection to be able to curtail it immediately.

Not many women are familiar with the term “yeast infection”. However, more women are probably aware of or have experienced previously the symptoms of this condition. The top three signs of having yeast infection are itching, burning and pain, and discharge. Itching of any part of the skin or body is usually caused by an infestation of foreign organisms such as fungi or bacteria in a particular area of the body. In the case of yeast infection, the affected portion is the vaginal part and the surrounding areas. The infection can cause intense itching that rashes or redness usually develop secondary to scratching. Another indication is a burning or painful sensation in that area especially when urinating. The skin in a woman’s vaginal part may already contain sores due to frequent scratching that when placed in contact with the acidity of urine may cause pain or a burning sensation. This feeling may be similar to that which is experienced when having urinary track infection, however, they occur at different areas of the body. Lastly, some women report of having discharges that are usually described as odorless, white, and cheese-like. At other instances, a starch-like odor is said to be observed from the discharges.

Yeast infection itself is not considered as highly dangerous, however, it can be very irritating and disturbing especially among women who are already preoccupied with other responsibilities or tasks. On the other hand, like most infections, it is highly transferable to other individuals including the opposite sex. Certain conditions of the body may make it easier for a person to acquire this disease such as diabetes and use of antibiotics.

Other health problems which are usually associated with yeast infection include urinary tract infections and possible complications during pregnancy. However, these are not scientifically-based and are yet to be proven or negated in future studies.

What causes Yeast Infection?

The scientific term for yeast infection is Candidiasis. This was derived from the the yeast organism or fungus-like Candida that causes this condition. Fungus thrives in dark and moist areas such as the vaginal area of women. Certain health conditions such as pregnancy and diabetes make people, especially women, more prone to acquiring yeast infection. Pregnancy causes a change in the metabolic balance and vaginal acidity of women which is more favorable to fungus growth. Fungus are also known to thrive among individuals with high sugar levels such as in the case of people with diabetes and those with defects in sugar metabolism.

What are the treatments for Yeast Infection?

Various oral medications such as Diflucan or fluconazole and topical treatments may be prescribed by doctors to cure yeast infection. home remedies such as using yogurt and garlic, whether internally and externally, can also be done. It is, however, important to consult a doctor first prior to applying any of the available remedies to avoid complications and further harm.

I find a healthy diet of raw food, that is non-mucus forming discourages candida.

pregnancy test unclear

Does Embryo Biopsy Before Blastocyst Crypreservation Affect Post-thaw Embryo survival and Development

OBJECTIVE: Embryo biopsy for genetic studies and screening has become common in recent years. Yet, the impact of subsequent freezing on embryo survival and pregnancy rates remains unclear .In this study we sough to evaluate the effect of standard cryopreservation on blastocyst (normal and aneuploidy)derived from biopsied cleavage stage embryos, by comparing their survival and development to intact( not biopsied) frozen-thawed blastocysts.

design: Prospective, Observational study.

MATERIALS and METHODS: Between February 2005 and February 2007, 90 patients undergone 107 cycles of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) .Following fresh embryo transfer, per informed consent, all remaining blastocysts graded A and B were frozen in separate vials based on PGD results (normal versus ancuploidy) .Standard slow-freezing and thawing program were employed .All blastocysts were kept frozen for more than one month before thawing. Post-thaw embryo survival (>50% survival cells) and formation of blastocele cavity were recorded.

Between1-4 normal embryos were transferred (FET) in each cycle. Abnormal blastocysts were discarded after evaluation. During the study period, 33 additional women (mean age years) undergone FET of intact frozen-thawed blastocysts .Outcome of biopsied normal versus abnormal as well as biopsied versus intact frozen-thawed blastocysts was analysed using X2-test.

RESULTS: During FET, 9 women (mean age versus embryos transferred are respectively) received 29 biopsied normal blastocysts and 33 women received 113 intact blastocysts (average embryos transferred are 3.2 versus 3.4). There was no significant different in embryo survival in biopsied normal( 21/29; 72.4%) , biopsied abnormal( 60/81; 74.0%) and intact embryo( 81/113; 71.6%), as well as in the formation of blastocele cavity ( 17/29; 58.6%, 47/81; 58%, and 62/113; 54.9% respectively).Clinical pregnancy rates were similar in women undergoing FET of biopsied embryos ( 4/9; 44%) and intact embryos( 12/33; 36%).

CONCLUSION: Standard slow-freezing and thawing may be considered for cryopreservation of biopsied human embryos at Blastocyst stage.
